In this video we will be looking at shading networks in Maya, working with the alShaders library and common Maya shading nodes. This video is part of our last course.

In the video we focus on generating maps for our asset from the main diffuse map, using the alShaders library nodes like alLayerColor and alRemapColor. This video is part of our last course.
In this video we will have a look at the alTriplanar node from the alShaders library for arnold. This node can be used to quickly texture an object without uv’s. This video is part of our new course (pre order period) .
In this video we will create several procedural textures to recreate some real world shading effects, such as rust and painted metal. We take advantage of the alShaders noise library for Arnold, and also use some native Maya nodes, like the blendColors, samplerInfo and remap nodes. This video is part of the procedural shading section of our new course.
In this post we will have a look at a free maya plugin that generates a “curvature map”, from where you can extract edge/concavity masks. This plugin will create a vertex color set with red, green and blue information that you use to mask out parts of your model for procedural shading effects.
